Escalating COVID-19 restrictions trigger Chinese citizens to express their outrage on social media. Here are five short video clips from WION News revealing people forcibly removed from their homes, shoved into buses and whisked away to quarantine lock up in metal boxes. Children are isolated alone without parents.

The explosive growth of the Internet in the 1990s (See The History of the Internet in a Nutshell) and Facebook in 2004 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Facebook) brought a sense of freedom and expansion to many across the planet.
The COVID pandemic has changed that.
The pandemic, declared March 11, 2020 by the World Health Organization, has brought a sense of contraction and restriction with censorship of speech across social media platforms.
For the first time all countries are faced with the same flip-flopping restrictions intended to stop the spread of the dreaded COVID disease and all the variants that continue to emerge.
The Chinese are used to living under tight control and a social credit system but, in the Western world, we are not.
The Communist Party of China was founded on July 1, 1921 in Shanghai, China. The CPC finally won victory of “new-democratic revolution” and founded the People’s Republic of China in 1949.
The revolution was divided into four periods:
- Northern Expedition (1924-1927) of Kuomintang-Communist cooperation.
- Agrarian Revolutionary War (1927-1937).
- War of Resistance Against Japan (1937-1945)
- Chinese People’s War of Liberation (1946-1949).
The CPC finally achieved a victory in 1949 and established the People’s Republic of China , which, under the leadership of the working class and based on the workers-peasants alliance, upholds the people’s democratic dictatorship.
North Americans are accustomed to freedom and democracy. Atrocities out of China have long been shrugged off as being ‘over there’. But something has shifted. We now see some similarity to the stories coming from China.
A film by Leon Lee, award winning, tells the story about Falun Gong in ‘Unsilenced’, the story of Chinese persecution and international compliance.
Why is Falun Gong banned in China?
In 1992 Master Li Hongzhi introduced Falun Gong, outwardly a qigong practise like any other. But Master Li uniquely placed emphasis not on healing or supernormal abilities, but on self-cultivation towards spiritual perfection.
It has claimed Falun Gong is a menace to society – a superstitious, foreign-driven, tightly organised, dangerous group of meditators.https://www.newstatesman.com/politics/2008/08/falun-gong-party-chinese
In November 2021, Montreal, Canada, Practitioners Raise Awareness and Call for an End to the Persecution (of Falun Gong)
“Falun Dafa practitioners held a parade in Montreal on November 6, 2021, to call for an end to the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) 22-year-long persecution. Many residents praised them, and some said that everyone should be concerned about the persecution. Practitioners told people about Falun Dafa, exposed the CCP’s brutal persecution and forced live organ harvesting which targets practitioners.”
On Organ Harvesting in China
When I initially heard that the Chinese state was killing large numbers of prisoners of conscience for their bodily organs, I was like most people — I was in a state of disbelief.https://www.nspirement.com/2021/09/26/organ-harvesting-in-china.html
Although organ harvesting is not a common awareness in North America, an attack on religion emerged in 2021.

Canadians call out leaders for breaking their own Covid-19 rules
Canadians who have endured a travel ban, 14-day quarantines and weeks-long lockdowns are angry with politicians and government workers who are flouting the very health guidelines they helped put in place.
It seems an unforeseen side effect of the pandemic is a growing sense that citizens of the world are more like brothers and sisters than rivals to be feared and hated.
As we enter the third year of the pandemic and COVID fatigue increases, there is something we need to consider.
Is it possible that our freedom, something we have taken for granted for generations, could be stripped from us? The first paragraph in the Canadian Bill of Rights signed in 1960 by then Prime Minister John Diefenbaker states:
The Parliament of Canada, affirming that the Canadian Nation is founded upon principles that acknowledge the supremacy of God, the dignity and worth of the human person and the position of the family in a society of free men and free institutions.
