Talking With Some Truck Drivers in the Freedom Convoy 2022

Chad reads a viewer’s comment to Sheldon, Truck Driver:

“It’s the first time in a long time I’m proud to be Canadian. Proud to see these truckers stepping up to fight not only for their rights but for mine as well. Not all heroes wear capes but they are truly heroes of Canada right now.”

Chad: How does that feel?

That feels good. That’s something to be proud of. If we can have an opportunity to unmask these kids who’ve been suffocating for the last year or two…that’s what it’s all about. Being able to give people their freedoms and their rights back to the way it was and be able to keep on supplying people with their needs. Doing this for everybody…not just truckers…there’s people from all over the world sending support.

Sheldon, 17 years as a Truck Driver turned Dispatcher

Sheldon says out of 17 truck drivers only seven can cross the border. They had to let 10 of them go.

Travis interviews Nick, Truck Driver

Travis: What does the upside down Canadian flag mean to you?

Nick: They say it’s a sign of distress. I fly my flag upright because I’m proud of being Canadian…If my flag tears I’ll take it down and put a new one up. I’ll never fly my flag upside down.

Travis: What does it mean to you to be a Canadian?

Nick: Freedom. Open country, smiling faces and our rights.

Travis: What has pushed us to this moment of solidarity and unity?

Nick: We’re tired and backed into a corner with these corrupt rules. We’re just fed up with it.

We love the support and the people…to see the unity of the country coming together. I didn’t expect it to be this good. Well, it’s Canada. That shows that the country isn’t broken – just the government.

Nick, Truck Driver, 29 years, owner/operator

Joel follows in Dad’s (Truck Driver) footsteps. Outside it’s -30 degrees C and they travelled from Corning, Saskatchewan – headed to Ottawa to stand for the truckers.

Travis: What’s the feeling today? Driving along the highway seeing all these people and all these signs saying thank you, we love you?

Joel: It’s pretty great to see all the people coming out and supporting everybody here.

Travis: Do you have any messages for the people?

Dad: I would like to see people educate themselves. I think that’s why we got into this mess. A lot of people sat back and have been complacent letting other people run the country and run industry. The average person just put their head down, working and enjoying life. We need to educate ourselves as to what’s going on. We’ve got some major problems. Not just with this COVID and vaccine. There’s a lot of other stuff.

Search out some other news sources other than mainstream would be step one. Like Joe Rogan, Ben Shapiro, Brett Weinstein, Jordan Petersen.

Joel and his Dad, Truck Driver

Dad: It’s not just about the vaccine or COVID. There’s a lot of other stuff going on. The people out in Ottawa don’t seem to hear what we’re saying. They’re not listening. These guys are going to take the message to them. Maybe that will wake some people up.

Travis: Are you hearing any chatter on the road?

Dad: Peaceful, peaceful, peaceful. Anybody that’s not, they’re not with this group.
